Summary of Minutes - Monday 12th April 2010

Central Bedfordshire Representative/s

Ward Cllr Marion Mustoe wanted to raise the awareness of Dog Wardens, who work for Central Bedfordshire; they can be contacted/called upon by residents to patrol areas of concern with regards to dog nuisance. Residents need to call the main Central Bedfordshire Council enquiry line 0300 300 8632 and then ask for the Dog Wardens for this area. Ward Cllr Ken Janes reported a number of fly tipping incidents in the parish recently and asked that if residents see any incidents of fly tipping to contact Customer Services at Central Bedfordshire Council on 0300 300 8000 who will then deal with the matter accordingly.

Police Report

There have been 13 recorded crimes for the month. PC Dady wanted to remind all residents that they can view Crime Maps for the area on the Bedfordshire Police Online website.

Miscellaneous Items

  • Ransom Strip/Mill End Close – The Parish Council were asked if they were in receipt of documentation confirming the named contact regarding this land. The Clerk confirmed that to date no such letter/documentation has been received and will make further enquiries to those involved for documentation showing legal ownership/representation for this land.
  • Speed Limits - The Clerk confirmed she is in communication with Central Bedfordshire Council as to the processes required for the implementation of speed limits/restrictions on the village roads.
  • Golf Signs/Litter Bins at School Lane Recreation Ground – The Parish Council are looking into placing signs at the entrance to the recreation ground (Wallace Drive entrance) stating NO golf, NO horse riding, NO motorised wheeled vehicles. A litter bin located near the car park is poorly situated and needs to be located to a more suitable location. The Parish Council is looking at a more suitable location for this bin to be sited within the recreation ground.
