Litter Pick Day, Saturday 16th March 2019

Despite the wind and the threat of rain it was a successful day, with forty-five bags of rubbish plus additional piles of household rubbish collected and CBC kindly removing (for free) all bags/rubbish collected.

The Parish Council (PC) would like to thank event organizer Roy Michel who worked with the PC/Cllr Brewer and a big well done to all who attended and helped with the litter pick. The PC are looking into organizing another Litter Pick Day later in the year.

Advertising In Parish

Due to repeated flouting of parish rules from businesses/individuals displaying unauthorised advertising in the parish, the following amendments to the current advertising policy were agreed with immediate effect.

"Unauthorised parties will be asked to remove all their advertising within 5 days of request, after which time the Parish Council will have these items removed/stored and arrangements will need to be made with the Parish Clerk for collection and the council will seek recovery of the associated removal costs incurred (£30). Should items not be collected from the Parish Clerk within 5 days of removal the council will organise disposal of such and seek recovery of associated disposal costs (£10)."

Charity: Kids Out

The Parish Council received a letter of thanks from the Kids Out Charity for the money raised at the Christmas Brass Band & Carols event last December 2018.

"On behalf of us all at KidsOut, I want to say thank you for the £195.00 donation we recently received. We would like to thank the Eaton Bray & Edlesborough Residents Association for their kind donation of £145.00 and the Band for the £50.00 from their concert. This is a wonderful gift to receive and I can assure you that every penny that you have donated will go directly into our services for the local children. Please can I ask you to pass our thanks on to the rest of the band and your supporters. KidsOut is the national charity which provides fun and happiness for children and young people living in difficult and challenging circumstances. The children we help come from all manner of backgrounds. Some have learning difficulties or are physically disabled, while others are deprived or have suffered serious violence or abuse. Whatever their circumstances, the children we help deserve fun and laughter in their lives. Thank you once again - your support is making a real difference."
