  • Cllr. Janes confirmed that the HGV Weight Restrictions are in force and that vehicles breaking this restriction should be reported to CBC Highways who will review and write to the owner of the vehicle highlighting the new restrictions. It's important to get the registration mark of the vehicle and if possible the branding of the vehicle owner. A photo of the vehicle is also useful.
  • Reporting of HGV restriction offences: Central Bedfordshire Council, Highways Department.

Highways Matters

Pavements are for peopleIt has again been brought to the Council's attention the problem of poorly parked cars within the parish - parking on public footpaths, blocking access for pedestrians, causing obstruction and parking opposite junctions.

Parking on the pavements/blocking junctions is a highways offence and enforceable with a fixed penalty notice. It is also dangerous to those who have to walk out onto the road to pass the vehicle and for those using hazardous junctions. The Council request that vehicle owners do not park their vehicles on the pavements or part opposite junctions.

The Police will be informed and enforcement action taken.
