Speedwatch

The Parish Council STILL NEED volunteers to join the speed watch group to monitor traffic speeds on the parish roads. If interested please contact Cllr. Mark Tomkins on 07810 753878, between 9am-8pm or email [email protected].

Overgrown Trees

The council wished to remind residents that trees situated on private land (not council land) and causing a nuisance to your property are not the responsibility of the Parish Council and that residents need to take the matter up with the land owner direct.

Bonfires

There have been a spate of bonfires in the parish recently, it is important to note that although there is no legislation banning bonfires; smoke from bonfires can constitute a statutory nuisance and possible action if the bonfires are lit on a regular basis. Central Bedfordshire is not in a smoke free zone and only garden waste should be burned. Instead of having a bonfire, CBC recommend that waste material be taken to a civic amenity site for disposal, or if practicable, composted or recycled. If a bonfire is being lit on a regular basis, for example every Tuesday at 6.00pm then it does constitute a statutory nuisance and possible action will be taken. If this is the case then you can contact the CBC Environmental team on 0300 300 8302 and they will take the appropriate action.
