Summary of Minutes - Monday 2nd June 2008

Public Open Forum

A number of residents raised concerns regarding a planning application for Dyers Road, Eaton Bray; the proposal of which is for change of use to small business use. Concerns were raised about the type of business planned, the access road being part of a bridle track, noise pollution and safety at the main road entrance.

The Village Post Office and Preparations in Event of Threatened Closure

The Clerk gave an update on the Post Office threatened closure. She informed the Parish Council that no confirmation of which Post Offices will be put forward for closure will be released until the 8th July 2008. It was agreed to put together a petition for residents to sign as preparation in the event of threatened closure, the petition to be placed in the village store Post Office and also on the Parish Council’s stand at the Carnival in July. Parish Council Village Carnival Stand

The Parish Council will be having a stand at the Carnival, with a number of Councillors present during the day and hope to meet and speak to as many people as possible.

Temporary Road Closure - Eaton Bray, Saturday 5th July 2008

The Parish Council have agreed to fund the advertisement for a temporary road closure order being displayed in the Bedfordshire On Sunday on 15th June 2008 in readiness for the St Mary’s Village Carnival Procession on Saturday, 5th July 2008. The temporary road closure will cover The High Street and Moor End, Eaton Bray from around 12:15pm to 1:15pm.

Policing for Eaton Bray Parish

The Parish Council are continuing to look into the options available for additional policing in the Parish.

The Clerk informed the Parish Council that the local police are looking at holding another Police Surgery (jointly with Buckinghamshire Police), on the 26th July 2008, venue/details to be displayed in due course.

Visit from Andrew Selous MP

Another reminder of the visit to Eaton Bray Parish by Andrew Selous MP on Friday, 18th July 2008, from 11:30am-12noon at The Coffee Tavern. He hopes to meet as many constituents as possible.

Monday 14th July 2008, 7.30pm, in the Coffee Tavern.
