Cricket: Village thrash 1st XI
Posted on May 25, 2011
The first XI fielded first on a sunny Saturday, which proved almost fatal as Village rattled up 290-3 from their 44 overs.
All Village batsmen contributed to the cause and with some bad fielding aiding the opposition, a massive total was ran up. The reply, never really got going, with Chopper falling LBW in the 2nd over and all other wickets falling frequently.
Skipper Norris batted defiantly, for his very well played 80 until edging behind in the penultimate over, aided all the way by Manny Barker who stood fast for close to 20 overs, battling hard for the potential draw.
The Bray fell very well short all out for 156 and will surely want to bounce back with a strong performance against MK City this coming Saturday.
