Sacred Heart U9 - 0
EB Lions U9 Blues - 4
Lions regained top spot with an emphatic win over previous league leaders Sacred Heart in Saturday's pivotal away fixture.
After a tense start that saw keeper Cameron Burchell well tested, Toby McGee netted from the edge of the box to hand Lions a vital early lead. A resurgent Sacred Heart pushed back but solid tackling from James Glover and Joe Thorne gave the hosts scant openings, and midfield domination by 011ie West and Sam Bramston turned the tide in favour of the visiting side.
Lions capitalised as Joe Rabey blazed in from the right wing, finding the top corner of the net, and Sam Carter tapped in a deft cross to extend the lead ahead of the break.
The frantic pace took its toll in the second, Lions easing off until a searing strike from Myles Frederick, run into the goalmouth by Joe, added a fourth to the tally and compounded a decisive win.
