Open GardensWe were blessed with a lovely afternoon on 8 June when ten gardens opened to the public. The sunshine bought out the best in the gardens and in the relaxed social atmosphere of the event - it was great to see so many happy people around in our villages.

Thanks must go to so many people who worked to make the event a success - most importantly for those who opened their gardens and worked so hard to ensure they were at their best. Thanks also to those who gave up their afternoons to help at the gardens or at the Village Hall and those who donated prizes or plants, with special thanks going to Garden Scene Nurseries in The Rye. Finally thanks to so many friends from the villages and beyond who came and visited the gardens.

As a result of everyone's efforts the event raised over £2,300 to be shared by the Macmillan Cancer Support and St Mary's Roof Fund. We expect to hold the event again next year on 14th June. If the event inspired you to open your garden next year please get in touch with Gordon Gray.
