Private Harry Woodcraft G/44026 Middlesex Regiment

Harry was born in Bower Lane Eaton Bray to parents John Woodcraft a Quarryman at Totternhoe Lime and Elizabeth (Lizzie) nee Fountain.

He worked as a Farm Labourer in and around the village and is also thought to have followed his father to the Lime Works in Totternhoe.

Harry enlisted in Bedford in 1916 and joined the Middlesex Regiment. Information from the Roll of Honour site has him with either the 17th Battalion (1st Football) or the 19th Battalion (Public Works).

Harry was killed in action on 16th February 1917 in France age 27.

Buried in Courcelette British Cemetery Somme France Grave 1 e 7.
