James Robert Mordecai was born in 1917, the only child of parents Herbert Herman Mordecai - who served with the East Yorkshire Regiment in WW1 and was killed in action in France on the 10th September 1918 - and Miss E Brown.
Married Irene Mitchell 1939.
Private 6013715 2nd/5th Essex Regiment.
Died Wednesday 8th September 1943 aged 26.
Commemorated on Cassino Memorial Italy panel 8.
