"Were you there then?"

I hope you will all agree that the Village Slideshow, in aid of Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, 3rd October at the Village Hall was a great night out. Approximately 65 people, friends and family attended Peter's latest guided tour down memory lane. Not only did Peter prepare the slideshow but provided anecdotes and observations of people, places and day to day life within the villages past, making the whole evening very entertaining.... even our three teenagers enjoyed it! Well done Peter that was truly an achievement.

So thank yous are sent with much gratitude to Peter & Mary Mayne for the Slideshow & Book sales, Nick, Julie & Sue at the Roebuck for ticket sales, Edlesborough Stores & Post Office for refreshment supplies.... for the fantastic raffle prize donations from High Street Hair, Hinds Butchers, Mary Mayne, staff at Threshers Off-Licence, Pam & Jimmy.... to Iain Rennie Hospice at Home for supplying the un-named bear (Bruce).... to the great helpers on the night Janet, Mary, Sam, Charlie, Emily & Bethany.

We look set to have raised in excess of £500 on the night, which goes a great way to our final target of £3,000 so thankyou to all those who dug deep and gave generously. Your support is very much appreciated so please look out for us on my training over the winter (climatisation for Iceland in July).

Bernie is taking a well deserved few days break (well - he's back at work) before his next fundraising brainstorm. He has really been the mastermind behind last nights event, and we really could not have done it without him, his passion for the village of yesteryear and yes, strangely he's still motivated by the thought of my being away...    Thank you for your support, jane.
