Eaton Bray Lions U9 Blues - 3
Luton Borough Dragons Whites - 1
Needing a point to win the league title, lions set out with their trademark tenacity and a Joe Rabey first-half hat-trick gave the visitors a vital early lead.
Lancing clearances from Joe Thorne and crunching tackles by James Glover made for an effective back line that held the hosts to nil in the opening stanza. Borough found momentum in the second, pushing Cameron Burchell into some outstanding saves.
Relentless work in midfield from Sam Carter, Bill Moynes, Ollie West and Sam Carter turned the tide and Lions saw a handful of chances to extend their lead. Borough were dangerous on the counter though and pulled on back with a searing strike from the right wing. Good forward play by Toby McGee and Myles Frederick maintained an attacking presence until the final whistle.
