Eaton Bray Lions AFCLions went three points clear at the top with a comfortable win over St Martin's, bolstering their title hopes.

A Joe Rabey hat trick, and goals from Sam Carter and Ollie West, sealed a dominant victory over a determined host side. St Martin's were not without threat for the opening ten minutes but a flawless Cameron Burchell safely fielded the early attempts on goal, while stout defending from Joe Thorne and tireless MoM James Glover effectively staved off further attacks.

Lions were three up by half time and in the second began to build on their momentum to control possession for the final twenty minutes. A well placed lob from Toby McGee landed at the feet of Joe, who finished in clinical style, while searing work in midfield by Sam Bramston opened up more chances on goal, allowing Lions to extend their lead and compound a vital win.

Lewsey Centre U12 - 6
EB Lions U12 - 0

Lions gave a worthy account of themselves against league champions Lewsey Centre, but were unable to capitalise on a string of goal attempts.

Gutsy forward plays by Sean Woodhouse and James Hurley kept a talented home defence on red alert for the full 60 minutes, and stylish passing between Tom Horner, Aaron Gauntlett, Adam Bradley and deserving MOM Alex Poynter kept Lions in the game despite the one sided scoreline.

Lewsey attacked in waves during the second but in between offensive strikes there was good work by the visitors, Aarin Johnson and Ben Roberts feeding through to James and Sean who almost opened Lions' goal account on a handful of occasions.

Dominic Ryan and Chris McGee maintained a stalwart defence in the dying minutes but it was stand in keeper Jake Draper who drew plaudits from supporters on both sides, putting in a string of stunning saves.
