Young West End star Joe Ashman (right) will be flying high when he joins the cast of Peter Pan at The Grove this Christmas.
The Edlesborough schoolboy, who already has already appeared in The Sound of Music and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, has landed the role of John Darling.
Last autumn the 13-year-old, from Pebblemoor starred opposite Sex and the City's Kim Catrall in David Mamet's The Cryptogram at the Donmar in London.
Now he and Freddie Marshall, 11, from Eaton Bray, are playing John and Michael Darling after winning through tough auditions at the Dunstable theatre.
More than 30 young schoolboys from across the county attended the panto auditions in the hope of scooping a role opposite larger than life actor Brian Blessed.
Both boys train at Stagecoach theatre arts in Leighton Buzzard.
Peter Pan runs from December 14 until January 6. For tickets call the box office 01582 602080, online www.grovetheatre.co.uk or in person.
