Village Aesthetics

Has anybody else noticed how shabby the village is looking as you enter from the Bower Lane end? Firstly you see a derelict bungalow which appears to have wild dogs running loose in the grounds, then you see a pair of broken old gates and then you come to a perpetual buliding site. I am quite ashamed that this is very often the first view of the village that visitors have.

TO Julia Hays: Your comments have been noted. Regarding the damaged village gateway, this is currently going through the insurance process.  Insurance assessors have now visited the site and the Parish Council believe this is near to completion.

I can only endorse what Julia Hays says about th entrance to our village posted February 2009 and note the reply from the Parish Council March 2009  and 3 months on nothing has been done to rectify the damage.
I can only urge that the matter be followed up with some urgency as it has been dragging on for long enough and is not good for the village image or those resonsible for its upkeep.
