HGV Weight Limit

November 4, 2014 by Bernie in forum Eaton Bray Parish Council

At Eaton Bray Parish Council meeting last night concerns were raised over a request from Totternhoe Parish Council for a weight limit of 7.5 tonnes on HGVs going through their village.
EBPC have acted swiftly by objecting to this as the only route with Totternhoe out of bounds would be through Eaton Bray.
I have spoken to Central Beds this morning and have been told that any worries residents have should be emailed to [email protected]
and they will be forwarded to the Transport Team.

Latest date for objections or support is 21st November 2014.

Please see main Eaton Bray Website news for more details:
Link: Proposal to Introduce 7.5 Tonnes HGV Weight Restriction on Various Roads in Eaton Bray

#2192 Eaton Bray Parish Council, 11 November 2014, 19:13

PLEASE NOTE: the roads being proposed for the weight restriction are ONLY those leading to/affecting Totternhoe. The roads BEING RECOMMENDED for the re-route of HGV's over 7.5 tonnes ARE THROUGH Eaton Bray, to include the High Street, Bower Lane & Harling Road (potentially these HGVs will also use Edlesborough).

Comments should be sent in writing to the Transportation Manager, Central Bedfordshire Highways, Woodlands Annexe, Manton Lane, Bedford MK41 7NU or e-mail [email protected] by 21 November 2014. Any objections must state the grounds on which they are made.

A post on Facebook says that the application has been withdrawn and that both Totternhoe and Eaton Bray will put in a joint application in January.
Can the PC confirm this please.

Bernie I believe that we have in principle agreement from Totternhoe PC to proceed along those lines. We shall be discussing this at the PC meeting on Monday.
