Yet again after todays rain the road drains just below the butchers shop are overflowing.
This has been raised before yet still nothing has been actioned?

Seems to be a problem all over the village. The drains in Bower Lane especially the one at the junction with Dunstable Rd are also blocked and have been reported. Add to that the flooding that happens at Market Square this can only go one way which is to the lower parts of the village.
There are also problems in Park Lane, Totternhoe Rd and the Rye.
Could this have something to do with all the building that has gone up in recent times?
Cant remember it happening when I was growing up.

So are the Parish Councillers chasing this and if not where does it lie on the list of priorities!!!!!
Replies from Parish Council welcome.

I have reported this to the Parish Clerk along with the drains at the entrance to the car park for the skate park at the top of School Lane which have been blocked for five years plus.
As before there seems to be confusion over ownership of these drains and therefore they are never cleaned out......lets see what the response is at the Council meeting.

This will be on the Parish Council Agenda at the next meeting on July 7. The Parish Council has no power with regard to drainage, but we may well of course decide to make representations to the drainage board. The best course of action would be for individuals to complain direct to the drainage board immediately.

Please note that it is the Highways Dept at Central Bedfordshire Council that is responsible for maintenance of the storm drains NOT The Buckingham and River Ouzel Internal Drainage Board!!!!
For any issues please contact [email protected] direct with any concerns.
Storm drains are cleaned on a three yearly cycle with problem areas highlighted and works allocated on a needs basis.
