just 4 weeks until I head off for Nepal, Kathmandu, Lukla and ultimately Base Camp! Some of you may be aware that I fundraise for Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, this trip is in special memory of my Mum. I have financed the trip myself (including yet more vaccinations) & donations, if you wish, can be made using justgiving.com/remember/31422/Janet-Palmer thank you x

only a few days left to donate before I head off www.justgiving.com/mumsie-in-a-onesie I've had to take it easy this week, a visit to A&E on tues after cartilage damage to my ribs from an over zelous tug-0-war on mon at Reg Fit session, when will I learn? Hopefully never, Happy Mother's Day to all the other Mum's out there x

Wonders of modern technology is nothing compared to the fact that I've managed to post here from Namche Bazaar! This morning was an acclimatization trek which gave us the first glimpse of Everestbefore cloud descended. Trekking is slowly slowly & I am told this is harder than Kilimanjaro so maybe i take the easier option next time :-) Anyway the onesie was surgically removed in Kathmandu but I am now being coersed into getting photographic evidence at Base Camp! along with Charity t-shirts it'll be like a photoshoot. thanks to all who've donated to the justgiving pot it's really appreciated, jane

Well here I am back in Namche, we completed Everest Base Camp on Sunday, the toughest trek of my life, an emotional time for photos and congratulations in front of the altered 2012 sign but hey ho ... we are now descending at a great rate in order to gainnan extra day of comfort in Kathmandu for retail therapy & relaxation, thanks again for all support

So I finally got home safely from Nepal, the flight from Lukla is an experience I'll not be repeating ... it would seem you've all had more snow than I've seen in my 17 days away, which was a big shock considering my location! The inevitable lurgy has now taken grip, so having given it 2 weeks I am now told it's a common virus that'll pass & there's a lot of it about ... let's hope they're right or my next trip'll be seriously "clipped" by the family imposing restrictions on what, where & how long to factor in trip recovery times. Seriously though I appreciate whilst away this time my roles as chief cook, bottle washer, taxi driver, you name it were delegated and Team Tickell truly shone, thanks all of you xx
