At present I am assisting someone who is compiling a list of the watercress beds active in England during the 1900s-1910s.
Two of the sites mentioned in the old LCC's records were aparently run, or owned by, a Mr. Simmons at Edlesborugh.
Please may I ask if any of this forum's readers have any further knowledge on these and where exactly they were located?
I would be very appreciative of any clues that may be offered.

According to a book "Windmills and Watermills of Bedfordshire" the Simmons family at one time were at Bellows Mill.
Could be the place for you to start.

Thank you again for your help.
I looked at Google maps satellite image of the area and there are 2 distimct lakes/pools in Bellows Mill. This could easily be former Watercress beds.
I also noticed on the 1911 Census information on this site that a Mr Simmnos lived at Harling House. That being nearby may also add to the evidence.

Rob...
Bellows Mill backs on to Slickets Lane in Edlesborough and is also very close to the Ford...
