My husbands 2x great grandfather was Frederic Impey (1846-1901) lived in Eaton Bray, family stories say that he was the curate at Whipsnade Church. Both his son Sidney Frederick Impey and grandson Eric Impey where also from the area. Sidney was a coal merchant in Luton bu lived near Whipsnade. Eric played the organ in a local church (ca 1930-1940).Later the family moved to Biscot/Limbury. Does anyone have more information that they would like to share?
My e-mail is [email protected]
Look forward to hearing from you..
Kirstine.

Hi Tom n Harry
That sounds about right, I have noticed that some of the Whipsnade, Totternhoe and Eaton Bray get changed around. Are they related to you? If you have any information to share please e-mail me [email protected]
Look forward to hearing from you.

Frederick is a very common name in this line of the Impey family, in fact it is my middle name, and was also my fathers', who was Eric's brother.
Sidney & Rose Impey had 5 sons (Eric, Cliff, Gordon (my dad, known to everyone as John), Ray and Dennis, and one daughter Hilda.
They were involved in the coal merchants business and bought Dane Street Farm (south east of Luton).
South Bedfordshire is where you will find most of the Impey families.
