Joseph Goodman born abt. 1815 Eaton Bray. Marriage date unknown to Phoebe (surname unknown) who died 1857. Any details about children required, particularly Charles born in 1841.

There is a marriage on the family search site of a Joseph Goodman to Phebe Botsford 26th March 1827 in Edlesborough Bucks.
Phebe shown on census as born Edlesborough.
Seems they would only be about 11 and 12 but am told this was not unknown.Could be a reason we see no kids until Matilda c 1837.
Then they have shed loads.

First sign of Charles born to Joseph and Phebe is on 1861 census born c1856.
There is another Charles born c1834 to Benjamin Goodman and Mary nee Tibbett.

Thanks Tom n Harry. The fact that you mention Matilda sounds correct. The other siblings I seem to be able to match with her are Samuel, George, John, Emma, Eli and then Charles. If these are the 'shed loads' then you've found them for me. Can you confirm this name match please?

1881 has Joseph in the Leighton Buzzard Union Workhouse.
There is a record in the Workhouse births and deaths for Joseph Goodman who died the 27th June 1888 age 70.
Joseph was of Eaton Bray.

Charles born c1856 Eaton Bray and is a Drover in 1871.Moves to Mount Sorrel Leicestershire and marries Mary Jane Simmonds in 1878.
Has a job in a Stone Quarry and is still there in 1911 as a clerk.
7 children are born to Charles and Mary Jane.

All born Mount Sorrel as is Mary Jane.
Death for Charles registered Barrow upon Soar September 1916 age 61.

Joseph Costin Married Eluza Room they are from Eaton Bray and married in Leighton.
There birth date is 1853.
Eliza and Margaretra were 2 of there children
