My great grandfather was Alfred Snoxell or Snoxall I don't know which but he was born 1857 in Eaton Bray.
He married Elizabeth Impey of Eaton Bray on 19th February 1876.
He was the son of an Edward Snoxall or Edward Snoxell and wife Ann.
I would be grateful for any information which would help me identify which Edward was his father
also the maiden name of his wife.

Searched on census but can only be sure from 1881 where Alfred is living in Hornes Yard in Eaton Bray and in 1891 in St Giles Yard.
Where did you get parents name from please Michael?

This could be him in 1901 transcribed as Snoscoll on Ancestry living High St Eaton Bray but born in Totternhoe.
Wife is Elizabeth and a son Fred tallys up with 1891 census.

Think that maybe Alfred was born in Luton. Marlw Wootons Eaton Bray Community Tree has him with parents Edward born Haines Beds and Charlotte Cooper.
Have seen a couple of trees on ancestry with parents Edward and Ann but can find no other records to confirm this.

Elizabeth died in 1903 and is buried in Bower Lane. No sign of Alfred at cemetary who I think died 1913 surgesting that he may not have been living in the village at this time. Also can't find him as yet in 1911 census.

Looks like Alfred in 1911 living alone in The Rye.

Tom n Harry - The parents names I obtained from FamilySearch.org before they updated their search facility they used to have records which showed households.
My grandfather was Walter Edwin Snoxall b1877 who married Rose Copperwaite b1875 on 13th June 1896 witnesses were George Impey & Mary Brigginshaw this info is from FamilySearch - Community tree for Eaton Bray, same source shows 1891 Census with Alfred Snoxell living on St. Giles aged 34 born in Eaton Bray, with Elizabeth, wife, Walter aged 14, James aged 13, Fred aged 5.
Edward shown as Snoxell, Walter as Snoxall in the marriage record.
Edward I believe to be the son of John Snoxell and Ann Hide but I think there were two sons with the name Edward one born 1799 died 1805 and the other born 1805 but I am unable to verify it.
Hope that you can clarify this info for me - thanks
Michael

No burial in Eaton Bray for Edward.
The only one I can find at the moment is March 30th 1796 in Totternhoe which is too early.
Will search Totternhoe as there are sheadloads of Snoxalls in the records.
