Looking for more info for my family tree. Grandad was Edward Cheshire 1888, from Northall, married Edith Maud Samuel,1885, from Stoke Hammond. Cheshires were from Northall/Edlesborough area but moved to E.B. and Samuel(s) from Leighton Buzzard.
Great Aunt Ada Cheshire married John/Jack Archer who had many siblings and from farming family.
Any info or stories about them would be good.

Probably not related to your quest as Samuel seems to be a very common name in Bedfordshire - my ancestors mostly came from Ampthill, Biggleswade and Old Warden and mostly seemed to be called John even back to the 1700s.  I am only just starting but have got completely hooked.

Carol..The posting is quite old now but if you need a look up we would be happy to do one.

Yes I did wonder whether the orginal 'poster' would go back on to look - only just started on my Samuel/Parsons tree, who all seemed to derive from mainly Old Warden, Ampthill, Biggleswade and also Northill and Southill get a mention.  Be very interested to know whether any Samuel families still live in the area.  What does a 'look up' involve. Look ups are just census and bmd records. If you give us a  place and date of birth before at least 1901 we may be able to find your family...The only advice I can give about living relations is to check the phone book or try 192.com

I have actually, found my direct ancestors G Father, GG Father, etc I think back to at least 1766, when I found a wedding which fitted.  I was just interested really to make contact with another Samuel searcher as this is the first time the name has come up in the appropriate area.

Cheshire Family.
Hi Angela,
I have a Richard Cheshire in my family tree, he's from Edlesborough and married Martha Dyer 28.02.1805. Hope this will be of help. Colin.

Thanks for replies, I do still look on any EB websites, even though my ties with EB are getting less since Mum died last year.
If anyone would like me to search for their ancestors, I have access to records with Genes Reunited.
Happy New Year.
