Ten cottages for £180
On Friday afternoon the 2nd instant at the White Horse Inn Eaton Bray, Messrs Hart and son of Leighton Buzzard, offered for sale by auction in one lot by direction of the executors of the late Mr William Mathews of London ten free hold cottages in two blocks situate in Chapel Yard Eaton Bray.
The buildings are of brick and slate each containing four rooms with three newly-erected wash-houses in a paved channelled drained yard and various domestic and sanitary conveniences and all are let producing an aggregate yearly rental of £37 14s.
The purchaser was Mr Chas Rogers of Eaton Bray at £180.
This property was afterwards sold privately and re-sold at a substantial profit in each case.
