Council Tax frozen for 2013/14
Central Beds Council announced a freeze on council tax for the third year running, after agreeing the budget for 2013/14 at a meeting on February 21st.
The council tax freeze means that tax for the average Central Beds Band D will be £1,308.33, with residents now paying the same, wherever they live.
Councillor Maurice Jones said: "We've put together a balanced budget which reflects responses we got from residents in our budget survey.
"Your feedback told us that savings should come from the back office, so that frontline services are protected.
"Throughout the whole budget process, we have been very clear that we do not want to put extra pressure on families' budgets by raising council tax and our focus has been on ensuring that residents receive great services that represent maximum value for money for the council tax they pay.
"We have scrutinised every area to look at where savings can be made and we remain determined to drive out every penny of unnecessary cost."
Burglary - Northall
This is a Neighbourhood Alert message from Thames Valley Police, Aylesbury.
A burglary has been reported at a residential property on Leighton Road, Northall between 10am and 4pm on Thursday 14 February. Offenders forced open the rear conservatory door and then smashed the glass in an internal door. A search has been made but at this time it is unconfirmed what, if anything, has been stolen.
Please remain on your guard and make sure any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the Police. Where possible obtain a description of them, along with details of any vehicle they may be using, especially the registration number.
DC Robinson from Aylesbury Local CID would like to hear from anyone that saw or heard anything suspicious between the times given. If you have any information please call the 24 hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.

Oxjam Festival coming to Eaton Bray
Bedford Town Concert Brass Band, plus the choir "Alive and Singing" present a concert for Oxfam as part of the Oxjam Leighton Buzzard festival on Friday 8th March.
Starting at 7.30pm, the venue for this concert is St. Mary's, Eaton Bray. Admission £5 adults, £1 concessions. All proceeds for Oxfam.
Music will range from Bach to Tom Jones, so a night of top entertainment is assured!

Burglary - Edlesborough
A burglary has been reported at a residential property On Jackson Close, Edlesborough on Sunday 3 February.
Offenders gained entry by smashing a patio door between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Property stolen included a mobile phone, watch and a TV.
Please remain vigilant and ensure any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the Police. Try to get a description of them, along with details of any vehicle they may be using, especially the registration number. Don't leave it to someone else - you may be the only witness.
