Election Of Councillors
Cllr. Hawkes was elected as Chairman of the Parish Council with all other Councillors agreeing to stand for this year.
Accounts For Year Ending 31st March 2010
The Clerk distributed details of the accounts for the Annual Return. It was agreed to approve the annual accounts, the Chairman signed on behalf of the Parish Council.
Vacancy For Parish Councillor
There is a vacancy for a Parish Councillor on Eaton Bray Parish Council. If you are interested in joining the council please contact the Parish Clerk.
Police Representatives
PC Viv Dady attended the meeting. The issue of problem youths hanging around the bus stop/Moor End was raised with the police.
Reporting of crimes: The police wished to remind all residents to contact the police when encountering an incident - at any time of day/night. Expressing the importance of obtaining as much details as possible, i.e. details of the incident, descriptions of the perpetrators, car registration numbers, etc. this will aid the police in their investigations.
Crime Prevention Event: The police reminded the Parish Council of their Crime Prevention Event being held on Sunday 16th May next, 1:00pm-4:00pm at Eaton Bray Village Hall. Notice of this event has been displayed on Parish notice boards and website.
Miscellaneous Items
- St. Mary's Church Gate: the quotation received for work required on the church gate was put to the Parish Council and it was agreed this work should proceed.
- Village Sign Post: the quotation received for the installation of the village sign was agreed in principle; with the Parish Council looking into the option of a replacement directional sign/wording.
- Skate & Ride Opening Plaque: An official plaque is to be sited at the Skate & Ride area to celebrate the opening on this wonderful facility.
- Nuisance Youths – Bus Shelter/School Lane Car Park: concerns were raised with the Parish Council regarding nuisance youths in the School Lane Car Park/Bus Shelter; the council are looking into these issues further, with further discussions with the local police.
